I'm getting ready to crawl

Our little girl is getting so big and loves to play. It's amazing how quickly she's grown, from being content to lay cradled in my arms and how I'd carefully hold her so that her head was supported, to this little person. She loves to be sitting up or standing (with assistance of course). We put together her excersaucer and at first she wasn't sure what to do but she quickly learned how to move around and push the buttons that make music. She also loves to spend time in her door jumper. Both of these new activities give her a new view of her surroundings. She especially loves when Sparky walks or runs by. Wherever she's playing Sparky is sure to be near by playing with his own toys. Samantha just squeals and smiles with delight at the sight of him.

4 months old

Samantha is growing and changing everyday. She had her four month baby well check yesterday which also meant another round of shots :( She did very well and the Dr. was so impressed with how strong she was. Over the last couple weeks Samantha has rolled over and loves to be sitting up. If she's laying down and get a hold of something she tries to pull herself up. Daddy is convinced we have a little prodigy on our hands; every time I tell him to about something new Samantha's done he replies "of course she did, she's a prodigy!" Samantha has always been a good sleeper at night and has also started consistently sleeping well during the day for her naps. She takes a short nap in the morning and a 2-3 hr nap in the afternoon.

Hey look what I can do

• I can roll over
• reach and grab my favorite toys and of course they go straight into my mouth
  
• talk to mommy and daddy but they call it babbling
• giggle
• squirm with excitement
• I love to look in the mirror
• suck my thumb
• take out my paci and try to put it back in

I grabbed this thing, now what do I do?

Fun in the Sun

It was so nice this week that we've spent lots of time outside. Samantha loves going on walks and enjoys the fresh air. Toby took her in the spa for the first time. She loves the water, she tries to grab it in her hands and then will get so excited she splashes herself. I think she thought it was a giant bath tub. Toby's so glad she likes the water because he's like a fish himself. He can't wait to take her to beach (one of his favorite places). We are also signing Samantha up for weekend Waterbaby classes this summer so she can take them with Daddy.
